We aim for our students to progress to our IT Apprenticeships or to university, preparing you to enter this lucrative and rewarding industry. Levels 2 and 3 assessment includes externally set unit examinations, a project and college set assignments. You will also have industry placements and employer-set projects

How Will I Be Assessed (Apprenticeship)

Assessment is ongoing throughout the Apprenticeship. You will create a portfolio of work, both in college and the workplace, which will be used as evidence towards your qualification.

You can be assessed in a number of ways, including:

  • producing written documents or products
  • observations, witness statements
  • photographic and professional discussions.

What Will This Lead To

Our Levels 1 and 2 courses are designed as a pathway onto our Level 3 courses.

Progression options from T Level include university, an apprenticeship or full-time employment. Possible employment routes include Junior Developer, Junior Analyst, Software Engineer and Test Analyst.

Students who choose University generally choose  courses such as Computing, Computer Science and Software Engineering. Students wishing to progress to University with a high UCAS entry requirement need to complete an Extended Project and core Maths to maximise their UCAS point achievement.

What Will This Lead To (Apprenticeship)

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will likely be offered full-time employment by your employer. Employers spend time and effort supporting and developing you to enhance their business, and they value you as a member of the team.

Alternatively, you could move on to a different employer and job role to experience different environments. Your employer will give you a good reference and you will have 18 months of work experience on your CV to show your new employer.

Another option is to go on to university and get a degree in your chosen specialism.
