Entry Requirements

Below you will find our entry requirements for those aged 16-18 who wish to study with us. 

Please note that some subjects or qualifications may have higher requirements or require a specific subject at GCSE. 

Offers of a place to study at Oldham College are always conditional upon students meeting the entry requirements for their chosen course.

The College reserves the right to make changes to entry requirements.

Vocational Courses

Level 3

Our Level 3 programmes require four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.

Course-specific requirements: Applied science requires a minimum of grade 4 in biology, chemistry and physics.

Our Level 2 courses require four GCSEs at grade 3 including English or maths.

Course-specific requirements: Motor vehicle courses require GCSE grade 3 in maths. Accounting, plumbing and electrical courses require a minimum of grade 4 in maths and English.

Level 1 

Our Level 1 courses require two GCSE’s at grade 2.

Course-specific requirements: Electrical and plumbing courses require a minimum grade 3 in maths, whilst motor vehicle courses require a grade 2 in maths.

T Level Courses

T Levels are a Level 3 course that equate to three A Levels.

To study a T Level, we require five GCSEs at grade 4 and above including English and Maths.

Course specific requirements: Health T Levels require a minimum of a grade 4 in biology, chemistry, and physics or a 4/4 in double science.

Our Foundation T Levels are a Level 2 stepping stone to a T Level.

These courses require a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 including English and maths.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are available at Oldham College at both Level 2 and Level 3.

Entry requirements are dependant on the apprenticeship level, subject and employer. We do ask that applicants have a minimum of grade 4 in English and maths or will be working towards this during their apprenticeship.
