Oldham College have a wide-range of dedicated student support services available for learners of all ages. From financial assistance to careers guidance, we offer everything needed to help our learners thrive.

The Oldham College Bursary

The Bursary is here to help with the cost of coming to college. If you’re eligible, we may be able to support you with things like travel, meals, essential books and equipment, course-specific clothing, extra costs during work experience and childcare fees for the days you’re timetabled to be in college.

It’s all about giving you the support you need to allow you to succeed.

You could get help from the Bursary if:

  • You’re 16–18 and your household income is under £35,000
  • Or you’re 19+ with a household income under £25,000
  • You’re studying an eligible course
  • You’ve had an Advanced Learner Loan approved (if needed)
  • You’re allowed to study in the UK

You’ll also need a bank account in your own name, if you are eligible for payments we cannot pay into anyone elses account.

If you have children and need help covering childcare costs while attending college, the Bursary can assist you. You are free to choose your childcare provider, but they must be Ofsted Registered.

To apply for childcare support, you will need to complete the Online Bursary Application and download and fill out the relevant Childcare Application Form below.
