More than 1,000 learners participated in activities for National Careers Week, which was dedicated to exploring future career options.

Employers from a range of sectors joined us on campus for talks, workshops and classroom sessions.

Highlights included an Industry Day in Hair and Barbering with special guests Wahl UK and Wella; Uniformed Public Services explored career paths with the RAF, and Law learners took part in mock interviews with employers including the Department for Work and Pensions, Ryder & Dutton Estate Agents and Miles Smith Specialist Risk Assessment.

IT support company Seriun spoke to Digital learners about roles in the sector, and creative company and charity Factory International gave Performing Arts learners an insight into a career in the arts.

We were also joined by more than 30 organisations for Build Your Future, a careers fair for learners from all subjects to attend and speak to employers. One learner described the fair as “amazing”, and another said: “I found everything interesting!”

Other activities delivered by our Careers team during National Careers Week included exploring different careers in the Imaginarium, CV and cover letter sessions and drop-in slots for learners to receive information, advice and guidance.
