Butterflies Nursery celebrates positive Ofsted report

23rd February 2026
Butterflies Nursery, our on-site childcare provision, has received a positive Ofsted report following a recent inspection.
The inspection, which took place in November 2025, follows the new Ofsted framework. A 5-point scale grades effectiveness in six areas, with safeguarding evaluated on a ‘met/not met’ basis.
Butterflies has achieved a Strong Standard grade in three areas: Achievement, Inclusion and Leadership and Governance. A Strong Standard means that leaders are working above the standard expected of them.
Behaviour, Attitude and Establishing Routines, Children’s Welfare and Wellbeing and Curriculum and Teaching were graded as Expected Standard. Safeguarding standards are met, meaning there is an ‘open and positive’ safeguarding culture at Butterflies.
Regarding Achievement, the report says that all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), “make impressive progress” with us. As for Inclusion, the report notes that “Children’s individual needs are treated with the utmost importance.” Leaders are described as demonstrating “an unwavering commitment to the children and families who access this setting.”
The report also states that: “Children thrive at this setting. They are curious, confident learners who readily explore their environment. Babies feel secure and safe, reassured by their warm, trusting relationships with the familiar staff in their room.”
Claire Johnson, Childcare Development Manager at Butterflies Nursery, said: “We are incredibly proud of our nursery provision and the work we do to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children in our care.
“The report highlights many of our key strengths – including our passion for ensuring each child has a positive beginning, our partnerships with parents and our ambitious curriculum.
“We were delighted to see the inspection described children at Butterflies Nursery as ‘respectful, empathetic, kind and happy’, and are committed to ensuring all children with us excel in their learning and development.”
